Our October 2017 “Try It” event was a huge success! We had many new skaters come down and join up with our volunteers for a night of skating, interaction with other players and even get some basic hockey skills. We had players from the Hartford Braillers, New York Nightshades and the Washington Wheelers doing their thing on the ice showing the crowd how Blind Ice Hockey is played. Steve Webb came down for a meet and greet and skated with us and saw for the first time what Blind Hockey is. He also brought down some fantastic NHL memorabilia that we raffled off. Volunteers from the Middle Country High School Hockey and Suffolk County Police Hockey teams were there to assist the new skaters. The night ended with some food and drink. A great time was had by all. We hope that you will stay in touch and be a part of our next event.
